Tea time at Dar L’Fchouch

“I feel like we’re hanging out in a cool friend’s apartment,” said this cool fabric designer in town for a weekend of Marrakech Biennale fun!  But one that is tucked up on the first floor of an art-deco apartment building down a little street in trendy Gueliz.

We were hanging out at Sinaya 28, the home of Dar L’Fchouch installation, a design/art/music/lifestyle pop-up cafe which featured Younes Duret’s designs during its inaugural show in which the designers are given carte blanche to design and create the space.

Duret is one of the trendiest designers and for his pop-up cafe he created a space with something for all senses. Furnished with his creations (all of which are for sale), including a children’s play room and fabulous lighting installations, the designs are contemporary and original. For the ears, Ness Radio was playing (also owned by Duret) and on this particular day it was jazz in honour of international jazz day.

As we sipped mint tea, we admired the small details. And nibbled on Moroccan patisseries.
