With temperatures regularly climbing above +40’C and evening temperatures not much lower, escaping Marrakech for cooler temperatures has been a high priority since returning from Canada last month.
And so when the Boutique Souk travel crew decided to head out of town for a day in the Atlas Mountains, I was on board.
A stop at a local market en route provided a glimpse in to local life as we wandered through the fruit and vegetable market and stopped to pick up some sfenge (donuts).
Then we were en route to Imlil where we trekked up to Aremd and enjoyed tea in a local kasbah home with views of Toubkal from the sitting area while chatting with the friendly women. Lunch and laughs were in order before returning by mule caravan. What laughs we had!
