Though it was late when we arrived, we were greeted with a huge plate of couscous and excited children.
The next morning we indulged in a breakfast of fresh-squeezed orange juice, crepes drizzled with olive oil, honey and thyme and a glass of mint tea, before heading off on a walk through this beautiful area. Children played soccer in the meadows, lush green fields filled with wild flowers, snow-capped mountains in the background. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
And a vegetable and chicken tajine before heading back to Marrakech in the grand taxi, a 1970s C240 Mercedes Benz with five other people, and Arabic music playing in the background.
And she said to herself, isn’t life wonderful?!
