All good things must come to an end. Like 2010.
It’s been a great year. Lots of adventures. Time spent with great friends and family. And right amount of challenges to keep me on my toes without feeling defeated.
It’s also been a life-changing year. Especially after my trip to Morocco.
But I think the lessons that really stick out in my mind are these:
1. Materialistic stuff makes you happy for the moment. But soon the new shoes, bag or dress you bought will lose it’s appeal and you’ll be back in the shops looking for something else to make you happy.
2. Experiences are what will stick out in our minds a year from now, 10 years from now and in the stories we tell. And living with less means you are free to have more experiences.
3. Friends are precious. Time is precious. Together both should be precious. If one is not, it’s time to reevaluate.
4. Exercise your ability to be an agent of change. At work. In the community. In your personal life. Your attitude. If you don’t like something, do something about it. Other than complain.
